Japanese hobby retailer, HobbyNet, has an intriguing new listing:

HobbyNet TDP Soundblaster

From what I can understand, the description states that a black version of popular Transformer Soundwave is being produced by Toy's Dream Project.  It converts from stealth jet to robot.

Release date is March 2006, and estimated price is 5250 yen.  Production is limited to 4000 pieces.

Could this be the Soundblaster repaint of GF Soundwave? 

(I know that the previous rumor about a GF Soundblaster was revealed as a hoax.  However, HobbyNet is generally a reliable source and TDP has been responsible for past repaints including the Paradron Medic and Dark Fangwolf.)

NO HOAX!

In Japan, the original GF Soundwave is very tough to find now.  I've been looking for him for a month now. 

This Black version will probably be very popular here for that reason alone.

edit:  Between EX-02, Metallic Megatron, and this black repaint, my exclusive repaint collection is getting out of control...

Hmmm...  why would Takara make this a limited run when demand is obviously going to be pretty high....  the other Toy's Dream stuff were relatively obscure toys/characters...

this...  I'm not convinced on.

Maybe demand is low because the Toys Dream Project figures arent that popular.  The Green Paradron Acree is just a peg warmer at my Toys R US.

Black Fangwolf wasnt that popular either here in Japan or internationally (as proven by the relatively low prices that figure still has over list).

Really?  I was just in Tokyo this past May and I wasn't able to find the Paradron Medic until I looked at the airport gift shop.  There was one hiding behind some random Superlink figures.  Maybe that speaks more to the large number of people in Tokyo than the actual popularity of the figure.

Btw, nice link to the TDP catalog- I hadn't seen that before.
